I have been working in education for over 20 years.  I got my start during university as a teacher’s aide at the Carnegie Mellon Lab School and as a tutor/mentor with a non-profit run through the university.  I was fortunate to have access to very high quality school programs early in my career.  I worked as an associate teacher at the San Francisco Day School before returning to College to earn my teaching credential from Mills College in Oakland, California.  In 2003 I joined the San Carlos Charter Learning Center as a second and third grade educator.  I then returned to Mills to complete my Masters program in Education with an Emphasis on Teaching (MEET).  In 2013 I began coursework at Notre Dame de Namur University for my Education Specialist Credential (Mild/Moderate).  After 19 years at the San Carlos Charter I moved to the San Mateo Foster City School District.

Over the course of my career I have worked with and counseled many families and each child and family situation is unique.  I have always been drawn to children who are struggling and have been adept at building rapport, using the latest research and thinking creatively to help support struggling learners.  I am passionate about education and want to see all children succeed.  It brings me great joy to play a role in a child’s journey and I appreciate the opportunity that families give me to partner with them.
